Services we provide
Respiratory specialists provide care for a wide range of respiratory conditions such as:
- asthma
- chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- cystic fibrosis
- lung cancer
- sleep apnoea.
They work closely with other physicians as many inpatient events are caused by respiratory disease.
Acute and inpatient respiratory services are provided by the respiratory teams at Dunedin Hospital. Patients with acute respiratory conditions admitted elsewhere in the Southern region are managed by General medicine services.
